Leaving SANS – The end of an era
- June 08, 2019 by RenditionSec
This is a personal post from Rendition Founder and President, Jake Williams.
Rendition Infosec is growing rapidly and I need to spend more time with the company. While I greatly enjoy training, mentoring clients and helping them to secure their networks is better aligned with my own personal goals and the growth at Rendition. I’m going to take this opportunity to announce that I will no longer be with SANS in 2020. I’ve met a ton of great people and it was a great ride. I’m thankful for the opportunities that SANS has given me, but it’s time to move on.
What this means for you is that if you want to take a SANS class with me, there’s still time to take one of the following before I close out my time with SANS at the end of the year:
- FOR508 (NYC and Florida)
- FOR578 (Paris and DC)
- FOR610 (Austin and Baltimore)
- SEC660 (Denver, Vegas, and Bethesda)
My last course will be at CDI in December 2019 where I’ll be teaching FOR578 for the last time. If you’re around a SANS event before then, please stop by and say hello. I’ll also be keynoting the SANS Security Awareness and Supply Chain Summits.
What about the future?
My SANS commitments have kept me from a number of other national and regional security conferences where I’ve wanted to give back to the community. If anything, the broader security community is likely to see more of me in 2020 than in previous years. With the ability to keep my schedule open to more community events, I’ll be able to reach a wider cross section of the security community. On that note, if you’re looking for a keynote speaker for your event in 2020, hit me up at inquiry at renditioninfosec.com and a member of the team will reach out to perform coordination.
